Speaker Introduction
Her Excellency Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo served as the 14th Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines from 2016 to 2022. A lawyer, economist, and lifelong advocate for inclusive governance, she became a symbol of compassionate, transparent, and participatory leadership during one of the most challenging periods in modern history. Throughout her tenure, she championed causes addressing poverty, inequality, education, women’s empowerment, and disaster resilience. As Vice President, she led highly effective, community-centered responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, often in partnership with civil society and the private sector, despite limited official resources. Her model of governance, grounded in ethics, collaboration, and innovation, earned her admiration both domestically and internationally.
